According to the written statement of the Aegean Exporters’ Associations, in 2017, the target market for dried fruit is India.

Turkish dried fruit sector which set a 3 billion dollar export goal for 2023; determined India as a target market in 2017 by the leadership of the Dried Fruit Promotion Commitee of Turkey (DFPC).

DFPC initiated a promotion attack in the second most populated country of the world, India; for raisins, dried figs, dried apricots and pistachios which are producing and exporting led by Turkey.

The president of the DFPC, Osman Oz declared that; every year, they focus on a country for promotion. This year they worked through South Korea.

India is a charming market with 1 billion 300 million population and fast-growing economy. Besides, they have a festival which called as ‘Diwali’. In these days, Indian people are preaparing dried fruit and nuts boxes and giving each other as a gift. India, has 150 million dollar dried fruit import annually. However the export of the Turkey to India, is narrow.

Dried Figs export has increased 35% considering to last year with the help of promotion initiation in Asia and Ocenia. That’s way these promotion initiations are working out.
