Russia will abolish the restrictions on import of Turkish tomatoes in early 2018
The deputy prime minister of Russia Arkady Dvorkovich has announced that Russia will start again importing of the fresh tomatoes from Turkey as minimum 50.000 tons initially at the beginning of 2018. According to the Russian news agency Interfax, tomatoes crisis between Russia and Turkey will be end next year.
In 2015 November, political crisis with the plane crash caused to devastated effects on economic and trade relations of two countries. After the normalization process which has ensured last year summer, import restrictions on some products has abolished, but tomatoes import was still restricted by Russian authorities. In spite of high crop quantity on tomatoes, after this announcement we can say that dried tomatoes prices will be higher than the estimated prices.
